Legal Department

Management of GEPCO is being assisted by the Addl: D.G. (Legal & Labour) in all legal matters and labour management relations. He is responsible for following: -

  1. To render advices in cases decided against GEPCO referred by the field formations and GEPCO Administration.
  2. Engagement of GEPCO counsels to defend and institution cases before courts.
  3. Attend courts in important cases.
  4. Briefing/assistance of GEPCO counsels for preparation of comments/replies in important cases.
  5. Arrange Works Council Meetings, issue its minutes and ensure implementation of decisions of Works Council.
  6. Efforts to resolve labour issues through dialogue / negotiations with CBA Union for peace and tranquility.
  7. Scrutiny of pension cases for countersignature by competent authority of GEPCO.
  8. Monitor and expedite the payments of lawful dues in fatal accident cases.
  9. All welfare related issues are also being dealt.
  10. Secretary of Scrutiny Committee for determination of correct date of birth in case of tempering/overwriting/erasing etc.
  11. Performing duties of Secretary Legal Committee BOD GEPCO during FY-2013-14.
